Having just finished the second game with the family. This is good fun. We have enough orcs for four armies of 750 points each.
One army is based on slightly different miniatures than the rest, so they have been designated Black Orcs. With a warboss with WAAAR! in there, they hit on a 2+.
A unit of 10 black orcs with a warboss on a boar gets 14 hits at 2+ and another 12 Furious/Impact hits at 3+. Few ten man units can withstand that, at least with regular orcs. Even though we practiced attrition and concentration of force today, there seems to be no way to beat these things. This army is no fun to play with or against. Unless we send the eight-year old to a tournament just to watch him wipe the floor with any opponent. That could be great fun. We'll just leave them in the box.
Otherwise this is a perfect game, for kids and adults alike. Our armies are mostly based on em4 plastic orcs, which not only are so cheap that even the kids can have their own sizeable army to paint (50 orcs at 7.70£), but are also made from a soft plastic which is very easy to convert. These are not unipose armies, anymore. At 25mm they are somewhat smallish, but our fluff simply says that is these are adolescent orcs, who are on a rampage!
