Hello!
I'm more or less new to wargaming. Dipped my toes in a time or two. I have a ton of GW models now though and just bought some infinity ones. I prefer games that let me use whatever models I like as I just want a bad ass collection!
I was wondering what models outside of GW's range everyone else uses to play OPR?
Pictures would be great! Share your creations and help me find new awesome looking models for my ever growing army!

Well obviously Mantic is an option. I am putting together (on paper anyway) a human defense force based on the Rebels, GCPS marines and the Enforcer model lines. I have some kitbashed Rebel models I am using as heroes, gcps marines as conscripts, infantry, and veterans, enforcers as storm troopers, and the peacekeeper models as ogers. With the ogres, I'm more leaning into the idea that "Ogre" is the code name or whatever for the big suits they use, not a literal big beefy guy.

You can see the Tyranids I've painted for Kill Team and GFF here: gabbigames.wordpress.com/2019/05/18/tyranids-kill-team/As you can see, there are a couple non-GW models. Speaking of models... what about a modeling/painting section of the forum, where to poast painted models and ask for advice? Or maybe just a thread in "General" board will suffice...

Here are some of the Space Marines I've painted for the same purpose (KillTeam, GFF, and so on). Scout and Terminator aren't GW models (albeit the scout got a head swap and the replacement head is GW). I have to pay more attention to lighting: models look way glossier than they actually are ^^

this is what we are using at the moment (yes, not very exceeding) as neither of us are sure what army we want to use yet. They are a bit underwhelming in terms of keeping track of what character does what visually (lots of referencing back to the cards). however given the genericness of them, it is easy to be swapping around armies.

These are great! I'm very passionate about wargames that let you use any model range cuz there are so many great looking things out there AND not everyone who wants to play even has models yet. Jason provides a great example of just that.
I guess accessibility is my number one priority when it comes to tabletop games. OPR does a great job of that.
Also, the hobby aspect is my least favorite cuz sometimes I dont want to spend hours building and painting when i could be playing lol

Beats meeple imo - at least you can tell who's who. I'll post ones i made so far when i get home.
I once had a dream that i downloaded(after a lot of sifting through dead links), and also made myself, pdf's with ready-to-print images of various 40k models but then i woke up and remembered that sharing those would be copyright infringement. Pm me if you want to know more.

![]() Big gray box in the middle of the pic is a WIP Havoc APC, made by following the guide by Wyloch: WCV 058![]() You can see first two minis i made have plain 30mm washers for bases, then i had a few covered with printed image of the ground, and the last batch have sand flocking painted black and dry brushed with gray.
Sorry for abysmal quality - those are phone pictures.

I use the Space Rangers from EM4 miniatures. At 2.55£ for five miniatures, they have the correct price range for mass produced plastic. em4miniatures.com/collections/science-fiction-near-future-miniatures
For vehicles I use Eli Patoroch's beautiful paper models for the men in blue. For my orcs I just freestyle some cardboard, sticks and styrene. Wyloch defines the buildings. (BTW: That vehicle to the left is an APC with a rocket battery on the roof: What is it called in this game?)

For the ACP it looks like you could run those as Hunter Missiles under upgrade A.
Are those minis 28mm?? 3 bucks for 5 guys is really tempting. Skip a coffee and have a new squad? Yes plz lol

BTW: That vehicle to the left is an APC with a rocket battery on the roof: What is it called in this game? From left to right: APC, Battle Tank w/ Twin Laser Cannon, Battle Tank w/ Wind Missile Launcher. Thanks. Then I did play them correctly. It is difficult to see in this shot, the middle one (Attack APC?) has laser cannon and twin plasma rifle. Weapons are magnetized, so the twin Laser turret is on its way.
And yes, these are 28mm. I've seen a comparison picture somewhere between GW and these. They are slightly larger than standard GW blue boys. EM4 added 0.05£ to the pack since I bought mine. It is still very reasonable. And I do not support greedy companies, so GW is not an option for me. The weapons are click on, so these switch between Battle Brothers and Support Brothers. It does not take a lot of tinkering to make a plausible Engineer or a Psychic out of these either. .

.......wow, thanks for the heads up. I want to do a Human Defense force house army just for GDF - I don't plan to ever play IG over in 40k...so that EM4 line looks really REALLY interesting. I am about to buy about a dozen of those 5 packs of troopers. :-D

I agree. It IS a good price. However when we talk prices we should always include the 12£ shipping cost. To reduce the cost per miniature, I recommend to also always grab a couple of bags of the EM4 orcs or dwarfs. 50 minis for 7.70£. And bags of shields. They are monopose and fantasy but convert very easily. I was planning to post some pictures tomorrow.
And Wyloch: Your massive effort elsewhere helped make my terrain. It is I who thank you.
