Didn't see a thread for this yet and saw that someone requested one. ---------------------------------- Use this thread to update everyone on your current hobby projects. If that's model builds, terrain builds, paint jobs, conversions, etc. this is the place to show it off and talk about it!
Pictures are encouraged but not required. Come chat about what you have going on!

Here is what I have recently made/am working on:
Picture A/B
Picture C - Rock bridge thing (just finished carving/sand texturing) - I might want to make some small pliability modifications so units can actually be part way up the sides, else it won't be a usable bridge, just blocking terrain.
- Barricades (treating them as cover and can be crossed as difficult terrain)
- Stone Pillar on stand [Something to make level interest]
Right now the broken down house seems to be a very 'focal point' to every game - it is the most done bit of terrain I have, the rest is jenga blocks, some cardstock cubes/blocks painted grey/etc. I need to get some more interesting terrain made so that it doesn't become the focus of every match.

And here is what happened with the picture C above (lighting + table's top doesn't seem to show them off very well. )

Very new to Wargaming as a hobby, but thanks to the simplicity and flexibility of Grimdark Future I'm looking to dip my toes. For that, I'm trying my hand at 3D printing some stuff I find online to get the look and feel you'd associate with wargaming (without crippling my wallet). So here is my first finished model, since I'm aiming to run primarily Battle Sisters. I like the look of her, so she'll probably be my Hero unit. I'm still getting use to painting and I'm still experimenting, but I think she turned out well for my first few goes at it. She's standing on some unfinished terrain I'm trying to make out of cardboard. Lots of experimenting and first times here.

Experimentation and practice are the keys to improve. James, if I may offer an advice, I would suggest you to try diluting more your colors. Generally speaking, most of the times, you will not want to use colors straight from the pot. Also, as Duncan says... Two thin layers are better than one thick one Anyhow, your efforts looks already nice and very promising.

Here is the gang of Orks I usually get stomped by Speesh Mehrines with... Bar the Mantic one: that's a new entry, he's carrying a Railgun. Assembled and painted specifically to get rid of Rocket Launcher brother. We'll see how things will go next time...

Thanks for the tip! I'm still not use to using paints, and having been having mixed results for a bit. But it's been really fun getting into painting miniatures and such, so I don't mind the trial and error involved.
Love the Orks! Usually when I see Orks they seem to look on the goofier side, but these ones look really slick. I think the different colored uniform bits makes them really stand out in the group shot. I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever take a crack at making an Ork warband.

Thank you. The fact that you like the color scheme makes me happy. When started painting these, I looked for a quick way and after some thinking I,ve decided that besides the “body parts” (skin, theet, eyes, etc) and metal, I would had used just shades of gray plus one accent color. I’m pretty satisfied by the result, all considered. Glad you like it too!

I am not super happy with how the foam took the paint, base coat + 4 pigment coats and the dome on the drone is still full of small black holes.

Well, considering the material it is built of, it looks great! To smooth and seal the foam surface you could try applying some slightly watered down PVA glue.

My initial coat was watered down PVA glue + black craft paint. Maybe I needed to use just the PVA glue without any paint. Might have thinned the PVA to much. I only started doing this painting/terrain crafting stuff a short while back. Other then a few minis that I painted 5-6? years ago, I started with some terrain elements 2? weeks back.

Maybe I needed to use just the PVA glue without any paint. Or better, apply multiple coats of thinned PVA. Also, you can sand the foam, using a very fine sandpaper. By the way, I think your model looks great, all considered. Keep up the good work!

Here is a terrain piece from Reaper, the Mystic Circle. Currently occupied by some of the Dark Ones, ancient sorcerers living on by their powers andy
