In order to play AoF: S, I started three armies: Dwarfs (Light Alliance Dwarves Set 2), High Elves (Italeri Set 6126 Arab Warriors) and Kingdom of Angels (Italeri Set 6026 French Knights and Foot Soldiers). I like this scale because they are cheaper and quicker to paint. I'll upload my progress on these armies. Here are their current units EDIT: I know that some of these miniatures don't correspond completely with the existing profiles. I usually play with them counting as other options. Dwarves: Warrior (Hand Weapon), Dwarf Lord (Great Weapon) and Ranger (Great Weapon) High Elves: Light Cavalry (Bow, Hand Weapon) and Heavy Cavalry (Hand Weapon) Kingdom of Angels: Paladin (Hand Weapon) and Crossbowman (Crossbow, Hand weapon)

Very nice and crisp paintjobs. Love them. Me and friend got a few fantasy boxes by Caesar, and a Dark Alliance postapoc set to be used in Gaslands. Cleaning them is a bit of pain, but once you did, they paint up very quickly.

Thanks Great! You're right, they're difficult to clean; sometimes I don't clean mould lines completely, but I'm okay with it.

Those are very nice! I am a sucker for the 20mm dudes myself and happy to see others around here! They might not have as much detail as the 28mm ones, but they get the "cheer leader" -phenomenon when combined in larger numbers.
Have you considered Cataphracts (from zvezda) as high elve cav with bows?

I think they have the right amount of detail . Great idea! The truth is that most of these horses don't have bard; only three out of fifteen have a padded bard (witch I painted metallic). Cataphracts are more suitable for representing heavy cavalry.

You are right about the heavy cav. But they have bows attached to the bard and the high elf cav has got spears and bows. (http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1715) It's hard to find suitable minis for the euqipment in 1/72 scale, so I wanted to help out I'm looking forward to see the rest of your guys painted! cheers

1/72 plastics sure do have realistic proportions. They look like people I like how the Paladin Champion turned out.

You're right. They may seem slender at first glance, due to the use of heroic scale in most of the current miniatures. Thanks As a curiosity, the miniature of the Paladin Champion is based on Jeanne d'Arc, according to www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=378 (after all, it comes from a set of French knights).

hey! your guys are awesome! like them very much! you have inspired me to paint my dwarfs (the other alliance set of dwarfs ) from left to right: iron worrior (spear), ranger, elite, lord (great weapon), iron worrior, drake marksman, iron worrior (spear, harpoon) but they need some foes to fight: the gobbos! a shaman (with wolf), 3 nasty assassins, wolf rider (spear), wolf rider (shortbow), archers, goblins, goblins (spear) i had to convert some of them because the set (from caesar miniatures) does not have riding goblins nor shields.

Thank you! I hope you've had fun with them Oh, dwarves with shooting weapons…I’m jealous . I’ve even considered counting the pipers as marksmen, justifying they play magic instruments that deal some kind of damage or induce fear to enemies. Good job with the conversions; they seem totally original. The wolf riders rock. The goblins with the white painted faces are the assassins? They remind me the joker

yeah it's a shame there are no shooting weapons in the sets. the only set of dwarfes with shooting weapons in it is from caesar miniatures but you have to be lucky to find it. i used some spare parts from other sets. mostely from poses i didn't like or had to much of them.
yeah the gobbos with the painted faces are the assassins and they should look like the joker. it's becaus they "think" they are more sneaky tricksy meanies with white scary paint on the face. i like this set of goblins alot.
