Ratmen Versus Dwarves - 750pts Batrep

A swarm of rats (Me) led by the mighty Warlock Blackfinger have descended upon a Dwarven stockpile of precious, precious cheese, defended by the Dwarf Engineer Bardon ( welshy ). The battle was sparked by the Dwarven clan's recent attempt to repel the Warlock's retinue from recovering old cheese making secrets.

The battle was fought over 4 objectives, signifying cheese-barrels full of the precious substance.

Both sides deployed, with the Dwarves winning and taking the top of the map, and activating first. Only minor casualties were sustained at first, some wounded rats and two dead Veterans, with two more killed by the Warlock's spellcraft. The Dwarven Cannon blew up 3 Storm Rats, while the Death Wheel killed Veterans with its Lightning Bolt. The round ended with the Rats claiming objective 1 and the Dwarves nabbing 2 and 4.

Here things became heated as the battle raged. The Chopper's flamethrower roasted a Rat Ogre, while its fellows failed to do any damage in return. Meanwhile the Death Wheel chewed up 4 Riders and scared off the last one, and took minimal damage from an AP4 Blast 3 Cannon round. The Poison Grenadiers choked out the final remaining Veteran, leading to a total destruction of the Dwarven flank. The Warlock managed to do a little damage to the chopper with his combination of Pestilence and a Poison Rifle. The Storm Troopers claim objective 2 and tie up the score.

Here things manage to swing towards the Rats, as they begin to wear down the Dwarves via superior numbers. The Chopper fries the Weapon Team, likely causing a big explosion in the process. The Warriors charge the Riders, failing to do damage and Wavering in the process, but exhausting their foes. From there the Grenadiers charge forward, and manage to deal q whopping 9 hits to the Cannon with their expert grenade skills and some luck from poison. The Cannon fails just enough of these to be destroyed. From there the Ogres charge and break the Beast Riders, leading to Bardon to call a retreat with his surviving forces and leaving all the tasty, tasty cheese to Blackfinger and his troops.
