10 iron warriors charge 20 goblins with phalanx. How many dices to roll for difficult terrain test? 10 or 20?

You take 10 tests. Here's the breakdown: - Phalanx makes you take a dangerous terrain test, but only up to as many tests as models with phalanx. - A dangerous terrain test makes you roll one die, or as many as your tough value. So because we have 10 models, we need to take 10 tests. If you added a hero with Tough(3) to the unit, then you would take 13 tests. If there were only 5 models with phalanx, then we would only take 5 tests. Hope this helps!

Thx. Translating to italian the rule is not very clear. It seems that you have to roll a test for every enemy model with phalanx.

True, but only up to the number of wounds (usually 1 but more if a model has Tough) in the charging unit.
Basically the lesser of models with Phalanx or the # of models/Tough value of the charging unit.

Sorry. French speaker here and but I am not sure to understand. Onepageanon, you said: "only as many tests as models with Phalanx." In the example above, there are 20 units who have Phalanx: the Goblins. So the 10 Iron Warriors would have to take 20 tests of Phalanx even if they are 10, isn't it? Or they have to take 10 tests because they are only 10 and the 10 others Phalanx tests are lost?

The smaller of the numbers is a good way to think of it.

Donc dans cette exemple il ne peut en faire que 10 et les autres sont perdus.
