First game in a while will be next Saturday. I'm trying to prepare. I want to play a scenario. I like objective systems, and there are several varieties for One Page Rules. Side Missions, Mission Cards, etc offer a lot. I don't want objectives that are too rule-mechanic based, and not necessarily same objective per side. The mission cards are neat, but might be good side missions. They don't give you an overall objective, or define why the battle is being fought.
I'd love some good scenarios or a scenario system that defined what the battle was about. One side was invading, the other side discovered them, has to head them off. One defends a village or camp or something. (Do you think Age of Fantasy needs to give the attacker higher points if attacking a force in defended terrain?) Ambushes?
As I search on the internet, I see people mentioning Lord of the Rings scenarios. I'll take a look there. Any suggestions?
thanks andy

I think that the Full Rulebook of AoF have a section of Advanced Missions, like Relic Hunt, Breakthrough or King of the Hill. These missions seem to be symmetric, so there isn't an invader or defender.
For that kind of scenarios, maybe Warhammer Fantasy or Age of Sigmar could give some inspiration too.
Have fun next Saturday!

I looked through those but they didn't appeal.
I think I just need to do some work and make a story.
Current plan: set ruins in center, trees outside. Elves hear that dead have been seen in the ruins. Need to drive them out, destroy something that is allowing them to appear
Details to come.

I came up with some ideas. something like: 1. Attack the fortress: force A is the defender and gets the fortifications (with one objective marker or flag) and force B is attacking with +pts for the army. Every unit lost for force B will reenter the battlefield. After 4 rounds roll one d6 on a 3+ play round 5. 2. Raid: build a village and place markers (boxes crates etc) all over the place. When a marker is occupied roll a d6. 1; nothing and discard the marker 2-3; get 1 point and discard the marker 4-5; get 2 points and discard the marker 6; get 3 points and discard the marker. The player with the most points wins. 3. Ambush: force A needs to get across the board from one edge to the other (the endzone begins like 12" from the edge). The other force is deployed left and right. The game ends if force A has 50% of it points value in the endzone or after 5 rounds. 4. Capure the flag: you need two flag markers and two bases and theeeen... play capture the flag I don't know if this works with armies but it sounds like fun. cheers
