Hello,
I've played a couple of games and really enjoyed them. I'm playing around with the points calculator to make a warband, but one part I'm struggling with is the spells. Comparing spells between factions, the balance seems very variable.
For example, at 5+ several factions have 1 auto hit at AP(3) where others get 1 hit at AP(4) Deadly (3) - which seems very powerful in Skirmish.
Similarly at 6+ a lot of factions have a spell giving a hit for every model in a unit, almost always terrible compared to other offensive spells given most units are either 1 or 3 models.
Has anyone else tried making a spell list and struggled? Perhaps I'm missing something?

Looking at it further I think part of my confusion is around the targeting rules, particularly regarding targeting other units within 6". Does the caster decide whether to target a single unit or a group of units?
If a group is targeted with a spell that eg gives regeneration, would this boost multiple units or just one?

The caster decides if they want the spell to affect other units within 6", so if you waned to that regeneration spell could affect all units within 6".
