I added a few exceptions for Tough 6 heroes to my doc, so they are treated more like Tough 3 non-heroes, whom they are usually equivalent to (so a Destroyer Armor Captain can ride along in a tank with his Destroyer brothers and a Prime Warrior can climb a building with its fellow Hive Warriors and so forth)

Resurrecting this discussion as I think it's relevant. If a Sniper shoots and wounds a Hero within a unit, will that force future wounds to all be allocated against that Hero until they die? Does this change if the unit the Hero is a part of has TOUGH as well? Does this change if you're instead talking about saying a special weapon Battle Brother Destroyer within the squad?
This would allow a sniper just getting a small nick in to allow the rest of the army to finish off the model, despite them normally hiding within their squad.

I would say the normal shooting rules would apply to non-Sniper shooting, I.e. the hero would take hits Last even if it’s the model with the most wounds, because you’re using the Def of the unit around him. RAW, technically that would allow Snipers to force a special weapon model to be the first casualty since they’re not protected by being a hero model, but I think that misses the intent of the Sniper rule. It wouldn’t/shouldn’t turn every other shooting attack against the unit into a Sniper attack, and the likelihood of your special trooper being easily picked out by shooters at range in a combat situation just because a sharpshooter hit it is… unlikely. Although you could also say the Sniper was shooting tracers out some other kind of marking/directingammunition to guide the rest of his buddies to single out a target. I’d say that one’s down to a house rule.

not sure why you necro'd an 18 month old thread but - if you have a wound marked on a non-hero part of a unit, that model HAS to take wound first from any more non-sniper shooting. That's just following normal wound assignment rules. Sniper doesn't matter for that.
