What was your experience with the Arena games?

I've played Age of Fantasy and just a little of Grimdark Future and GF Firefight. So I'm familiar with the OPR systems.

What is the feel of the arena games?

Do they lend themselves as well to ranged combatants as melee? Or future vs fantasy?

Particularly interested in what was fun, and what were in-game choices like.
