How does impact on weapons work?
I've read that impact hits don't benefit from any other rules on a weapon, but then what would be the point of Razor Caltrops (Impact(+2), AP(2))?
If impact on a weapon does not benefit from any other rules then what is the point of a weapon with no attacks, but has an AP?

I'm pretty sure that equipment that gives impact with an AP value would give that AP value to its impact.

No, impact is always AP0, it's technically not even an attack, just an automatic hit on charge. Consequently, things like Furious special rule, or Filth psychic power do nothing for it.

Where are we getting this from? Full Rulebook has no mention of Impact not having the benefit of AP mentioned in the weapon profile, and clearly Razor Caltrops should benefit from the AP2, otherwise, it has no point of existing when compared to Razor Talons. A pretty safe assumption: if a rule makes no sense and there's clear designer intent for this to be outside the normal paradigm (correct or perceived) follow the intent.

Necroant is correct, the creator (OPA) has clarified in the past that Impact does not use the weapons stats. Attachments:
