the army list should have suggested base size. I see the unit listed, but i have no clue how the unit suppose to look like. Probably if you know all warhammer codex book its obvious for you, but not everyone growup studying wargames.

Because OPR is minature agnostic it's up to the player to determine what fits best. This is usually the base the models come with. Because this is AoF:R you'll probably want square but you could do circle. Here is a list of old square sizes: eefl.freeforums.net/thread/611/base-size-conversionGood rule of thumb is most humanoids where 20X20mm from Goblins to Elves. Bigger brutes were 25X25mm from Orcs to Chaos Warriors.

• Infantry: 20mm to 40mm • Cavalry & Beasts: 25mm x 50mm • Monsters & Chariots: 50mm x 100mm • Artillery: Not mounted on a base
ok and the base doesnt matter - sure.
But when i check f.ex.Ratmen snipers they apparently should has cavalry shape. Anyway, its fair enough.

Sorry for necro-ing an old thread but I have Skaven on 25mm round bases and I dont want to switch to square bases because I want to play other games like AoS, Dragon Rampant, Oathmark, etc. Can I play AoFR with miniatures on round basses?

Yes, you can. You just need to keep them in a nice formation at all times or better use some movement trays.

I have movement trays, they're the standard 5x4 for 25mm round bases. I know that was one of the most critical points people would out in Warhammer Fantasy. But from my interpretation of the OPR rules is pretty open to whether you use squares or round bases and the movement trays you use.

As long as you are within the suggested base sizes pointed out in the Basic Rulebook, are consistent with your basing and have a way to handle the formation you should be absolutely fine.

Ironheartartisans have a wide array of 25mm round base to square movement trays available.

I have to agree with the OP. We need strict guidelines on what the bases sizes should for each given unit. 20to40 means a 100 to 200 footprint variation, that is way to variable. Same goes for 20to25 thats a 25% difference, That is huge.
