Hello,
I wanted to present you a house rule if ever some are interested in integrating it with them.
I found the units firing at Q5 to be too disadvantaged in view of the loss of hit when the opponent is in cover. (eg orks)
To reduce the impact of cover without making it a good shot, we have created this house rule.
Abundant burst / “Dakka” : Re-roll the hit rolls of 1, these rolls hit on a result of 4 or more, this value cannot be modified.
The cost of this is 1.25 on the shooting weapon.
The in-game impact is a 25% increase in hits when shooting at 5+ and 50% when shooting at 6+. A loss of only 40% instead of 50% when the enemy is in cover as well as more reliable fire.
This does not roll more dice than a relentless and a Q5 shot is still lower than a Q4 without the rule.
If you have any suggestions for changes, please let me know.
cordially
Gorkam

That's a cool rule but does that not take away from the flavour of Orks who are rubbish shots but brutal in hand to hand? And does it not also add an extra layer of complexity to what is a brilliantly simple system?
I'm no "mathhammerer" but I imagine the point calculation would need to be changed to take their greater accuracy into account?
Would it not be better to use the point calculator and just make your own faction of Orks and allter stats accordingly?

Regarding the point calculator, all I can say since we are not in a “patreon” place is that the coefficient of 1.25 is already the same for other rules. The orks will remain much better in melee despite the rules, it was especially designed for support units or vehicles that can be equipped with a lot of shooting weapon.

To respond to the creation of a separate army. This is almost what we do in our group of players depending on the feedback from the games. If one day I put it right on the page and in English I will share

I don't have a clue what coefficient means lol but I could imagine that the rule would make for some fun with units that have lots of fire power.
