I wanted to share an idea about too versatile units. A multipurpose unit in close combat and shooting will very rarely be able to exploit its weapons to their full potential over a turn, at best it will shoot then be loaded and finally use its close combat weapons after having taken the blows of the opponent.
These units paid full price for closed combat and shooting type weapons, which encouraged them to take very specialized units. Have you ever thought about, for example, reducing the least expensive weapon type (CCW / shot) by 50% on the unit? and this in general at all entrances to the game.
This idea came to me when I saw the V1 arena creation system.
