Today… me and my 8 years old son played our first Firefight. Nerver played a miniature wargame before. First time ever. We’ve played a LOT of boardgames and I painted up terrain and miniatures. So it was about time . So I spent some time reading rules for Firefight so I could explain without refering to the rulebook all the time. It was a Blast! He killed all my ork gretchins with his Battlebrothers and has a LOT of fun Thank you OPR for a great game!!! We will continue getting more terrain and miniatures, and Aldo and more of the advanced rules… Wow…just wow

And it sounds like you had ad least as much fun as he. My reaction to discovering these rules was not dissimilar. I don't think that the industry realizes that one of the huge barriers keeping people from getting into wargaming is needlessly large and complex rules. I see some rulesets being advertised with "200+ pages!" as though that were a good thing.

Today we have a lot of other competetive activitites , such as video games, computer gaming, and so on… So yes I am proud that both our sons like to play board games.. and war games… I think its a great thing for our Brains
