Brute Orcs weapon options

Hi all. I'm a new player and I have some (probably silly and obvious) questions about Brute Orcs armed with spears. I just want to make sure I understand it and I'm building them correctly.

The Orc army book says:

-Replace all Spears with 2x Hand Weapons

-Replace one Spear with a Great Weapon

-Replace one Spear with a Great Weapon OR a Spiked Mace & Claw-Fist

If you replace even one of the spears with a great weapon I assume you lose the Phalanx ability (since now not all of the models have the ability)?

If you replace all of the spears with hand weapons does that mean you can't use the other options (as you now have hand weapons instead of spears)?

If so, then you can have either:

5- spears

4- spears & 1 great weapon (or 1 mace/claw)

3- spears & 2 great weapons

3- spears & 1 great weapon & 1 mace/claw

or

5- 2x hand weapons

3- 2x hand weapons & 1 great weapon & 1 mace/claw

Correct?
