Has there been any suggestions to add a similar system that Warcry uses for the Initiative Phase whereby you roll 6 dice and group them into Singles, Doubles, Triples and Quads which can be used on your turn to pick from a pool of Global (and optionally faction specific) abilities? Its the only thing that for me is appears to be missing in AoFS and for me is the fundamental reason i think i prefer Warcy as a general great ruleset for pickup and play. However in saying that it is severely hamstrung by possibly the worst balancing in any of the GW rulesets.
I feel like there could be a middle-ground of simplicity just leveraging the Global Abilities and forgoing the Faction specific abilities which would make for a good and fair experience without overcomplicating the game.
Using the Minor Buffs from campaign rules might be a good starting place as far as what abilities could look like
