I am loving what I see in Grimdark Future and I started to translate the Basic rulebook v2.16 into Slovak.
Currently I am around 60% done, I should have it completed within a few days.
The PDF layout is straightforward, I will recreate it in Scribus and fill it up with the translation - I can then share its *.SLA file for future translators, if the powers that be allow it!
My further plan is to continue with the GF stuff (Army Lists, Quickstart rules and other freely available files).* and even the Full rulebook - this would only be available to Patrons and/or potential buyers through WargameVault etc. I will of course discuss this with OPA.
Technicalities: I am using a CAT software for the translation, so any further file to be translated will be greatly aided by the already existing Translation Memory and Glossary that I am slowly creating as I move along (especially the AoF rules will benefit as they are largely the same as GF). Firefight and Skirmish should be easy too. Not sure about Regiments yet, not really my immediate cup of tea, but...
*EDIT: The Full rulebook is to remain in English only as per OPA.
Would you like to share SLA file? It would make keeping our translations up to date much easier.
Regiments are in 80% just copy-paste from Age of Fantasy, so translating them was pretty easy. I did not play it, too.
PS. Greetings from Poland
Pozdrawiam! (Got my 13 polish words from Kobikowski's COBI Youtube channel.)
Sure, will share the SLA file when created, so far I am working on the translation itself.
Using a CAT software it is really easy to work on subsequent translations, say for AoF or Regiments after that (or the Firefight/Skirmish rulebooks). I just completed the Slovak translation of GF yesterday and today I finished AoF already (like 93% of the text was identical, only the Fantasy-specific examples and weapons/skills had to be tweaked in AoF).
I will now work on the GF Army Lists - these have to be recreated in the universal ODT template (I am using Word) and then translated.
