Hey!
I used to play AoS some 3ish years ago, liked the gameplay immensely! Then our grp left it mostly due to the lore and the game feeling like it slightly got out of hand (mortal wounds everywhere, everyone had ward saves etc). Mostly I wonder now whats the state of AoS? And if I were to dust off my fantasy collections, would you recommend OPR over it?
Just started OPR Grimdark Future due to 40k 9th being a bloated mess atm, is AoS basically in the same state?
Cheers!

If you like Grimdark Future then I would recommend Age of Fantasy.
AoS is not quite the bloated mess as 40k, but it is also by far not the clean and simple approach as OPR.

I was a long time player of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, and when AoS was released, I just never really got into it. I watched the system grow and had the same feeling as 40k, where things are starting to get out of hand. After playing Grimdark Future, I gave AoF a try and truly love it. I hadn't played a fantasy game in over a decade and now have three AoF armies...lol. The rules system is just clean and fun. Nevermind the fact that GW is locking AoS game info behind paywalls. Supposedly, the game rules would always be free, but buying army books, annual generals compendiums, and warscrolls is tedious. OPR is actually free and I can use all my old stuff that GW doesn't recognize anymore (looking at you Galrauch).
