Hello, I'm new to 3D printing. I already have printed saurian army and I'm enjoying painting it. What puts me off a little is that prints are very fragile, far more brittle than plastics. I'm using Anycubic basic resin and I'm affraid that any of my models will not survive falling from the table. What resin do you use? Can I expect that more expensive resin, like ABS-like will be similar to plastic?

I use Elegoo ABS-Like mixed with a little Siraya Tech Tenacious. I just top off a fresh Elegoo bottle with the Siraya Tech. Make sure you don't over cure the figures as that will increase the brittleness, I cure mine for between 2 and 2 1/2 minutes in a Elegoo Wash & Cure.

Latelly I used Anycubic Tough, it is more flexible and looks promising with smaller figures, like saurian warriors, they don't break easily when falling down.
Does curing time has influence on model brittleness? After all, you will put your minis on sunlight from time to time, does this mean they will get more brittle?

I print with Elegoo Water Washable, however, I add about 100mL of regular elegoo resin to the bottle as it helps with the brittle nature of WW resin. Since adding this small mix, my figures are more resilient.

When I bought my Mars 3 I tried water washable but it's so brittle (just painting mini's and small details were snapping). I've moved on to Siraya Tech "Fast" and it's passed the "sausage fingered man hands" test. Well worth the extra requirement of washing the prints in IPA.
