I have a ton of mechwarrior miniatures lying around. It would be cool to have a 1 page rules of mech battles at that scale 😬

Ive thought the same. I havent had time, but considered making a homebrew from the Orions Gate component and attack mechanics, with terrain rules from GFF.

That would be cool, but so is Alpha Strike.

I have a lot of the Mech Warrior Dark Age miniatures and want to try running a Grimdark Future game with them. They are based with groups of five miniatures, so removing dead models is not possible, but at that scale, if I can keep track of how many are lost, that can be worked-with (they are grouped in unit coherency anyhow).

Just add impact/suppression counters next to them! plus, they look cool. I do that sometimes when I cannot be bothered with the fiddlyness of individual 6mm miniatures and stick squads on magnetic bases.

I'm assuming you are scaling the game down from 28mm?

I'm assuming you are scaling the game down from 28mm? Hmm, yes, I probably should. I guess it depends on what size table is used. It could be played on a standard 6x4 table and give a crazy sense of scale by using the standard distances. But, you could also use a smaller 2x2 or 3x3 table (e.g. a coffee table or the size of my kitchen table) and use 1/2 or 1/3 the distances...or convert to centimeters from inches (Something I have done for converting another 28mm game to 10 or 15mm.)

For 6mm miniatures, i convert 1 inch into 0.5 cms... makes it sometimes a bit fiddly, but preserves the relative scales...

It would certainly work for a very small playing surface, since troops would be mostly moving about 3cm at a time. For anyone who played Epic 40K, what were the move distances in that game like?

Multiples of 5. Infantry typically 10cm, fast infantry 15. Vehicles could be 20 to 40cm per turn.
When I play individually mounted 6mm, I just use cm intead of inches. I think it helps to spread out a bit. I have no desire to work with half centimeters.
For my Epic 40K play, I've switched to 4" (10cm) hexes. With lots of little tiny figures, I love just picking 'em up and putting 'em down. I can't stand fiddly.

use a die next to the unit to keep track of how many individuals are in the unit?
