We got in a 200 point skirmish. The game ended in a draw. Super close. The Dark Elf Pirates' movement was big We made jumping over lava 4" or less a dangerous terrain test that must be cleared with a run move. It made for a few important decisions but no casualties. Here are some pics...
Other than the buildings and bridges, the terrain is mostly regular white packing foam sheets that I cut with a foam cutter. Some are layered. I painted them black then dry brushed a mid-tone gray over the edges followed by a bit of dry-brushed white. I spray paint some of the edges, however, because the spray paint actually leaves it looking kinda cool when it melts it. I just dab black over it and then dry brush it, too. The "lava" is just a sheet of fabric I put under the foam (cheap at a local fabric store). I still need to dry brush the center piece of foam.
The buildings are from Zen Terrain and the stairs are Warsenal. I was using them for Infinity games, but they work well for any modern/sci-fi.
