I was thinking of the kind of objectives you might add to the game where you need to kill a particular model. (I got Flux Battle Objectives from Wargame Vault. They look aimed at 40K, but I wanted to use something similar for fantasy.) With OPR, if a hero is attached to a unit, you have to go through all his supporters before you can kill him. In general, I'm OK with that (though I'd like to see a simple rule that allowed the attacker to pick a hit figure occasionally).
Sniper does allow you to pick out a target, but it also gives 2+ quality and ignore cover. (Or something like that--I looked it a up a little while ago.)
Would it make sense to have a special rule called Challenge or similar, where a figure with that rule can attack a specific model in close combat? I wish Sniper didn't have both target-picking and increased chances in it, but for a new close-combat rule, you wouldn't need to add that.
Any other approaches?
Again, my motivation is that I'd like to add various interesting sub-objectives, and wondered how to use the ones where you have to kill specific figures if they are in groups.
