Here's my take on it:
- Glad you're back onepagerules .
- I'm leery about a 2E (which, you could also argue is really a 3E), but that's because I always fear new editions.
- I like a points system to be able to make stuff.
- I like crowdsourcing army lists.
- I would hope that we could embrace joctao 's work on the points scripts and re-cost them to use the official logic, then use them as a basis for army book generation.
- I do not like Python[1], but can program in it and will help as much as I have time.
- I believe we could get it to output army books quite nicely. I am fluent in LaTeX, and agree with joctao that it makes sense to do it this way.
- Updating BattleScribe automatically is somewhat difficult, because of the complex rule intervalidation. But, that doesn't mean we can't use the old model of doing things.
- I am okay with less frequent updates of the army books.
- Unless something is *really* broken, I'd actually shoot for quarterly updates.
- If it's all run through the github code, really all that means is that we do a regen of all the army books, tag that spot in history, and then upload the official docs to the site.
- This does not preclude folks from generating/playtesting/etc. units, posting them here, etc. - they're just not "official" yet.
- My kids are getting old enough to actually play, which has me very excited.... ;-)
