I've got some questions on the rules and best practices for running the game. I'll use Age of Fantasy as my reference point, but the questions apply to Grimdark Future as well. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
(1) Unit size: Are there any guidelines on a minimum or maximum size for a unit? Could a unit be only one model? What about a unit with 12 or 15 models?
(2) Unit composition: Should an unit be composed on just one type of model? For example, could you have a unit that mixed both a Mage [1], Sword Masters [1], and Spearmen [3]?
(3) Multiple Attacks: Does damage from a model with multiple attacks have to target only one model, or can they split the attacks? For example, can the Giant Eagle with two attacks target one orc, and if that orc dies, could they apply the second attack to another orc? If the first orc didn't die, could I then apply the second attack to the same orc, making this decision after the dice roll?
(4) Group Unit Attacks: Can you roll all the dice at once when a unit attacks? So for a unit of 3 spearmen, just roll 3d6 at one time and then resolve each attack and damage?
(5) Partial Unit Cover: If a unit has 2 models visible, and a 3rd that is fully in cover and not visible, can my attacking units target only the 2 visible units, or am I essentially attacking the unit as a whole and can target all 3?
(6) Defense Rolls: Does the attacker roll both the attack (Quality) and defense dice? Or does the defender roll the latter?

(1) As written, the number of models in a unit is specified on the stat line, in square brackets. You can combine two of some units. I forget the exact wording, but I can tell you what page of the rules it is on. (2) Yes, though you can add a Hero to a unit, or things like a sergeant, banner, or musician. (3) Multiple attacks can go to different targets. Other things that multiply wounds, like Deadly, go to just one. (4) Some models can have different weapons, and we may use a different die for that. In GDF, where we may have a bit more diversity than AoF, we may roll all of a kind of weapon at once. (We allow splitting fire in broad terms, not too carefully specified.) (5) I forget. I could look it up, but it wouldn't add anything you couldn't do. (6) We let the attacker roll both, as they want to roll high on both. I appreciate letting both sides be involved, but the game doesn't slow down enough to be a concern, and it lets us just pick up the hitting dice and roll them again. andy

For #5, from what I recall of Grimdark Future, cover is 50% of the unit being hidden. Wounds still get applied to the unit as a whole.
