In AoF, I'm not sure I understand this, but under the Common Upgrades heading in the rules you can take a Battle Standard and a Musician. The rules are the same for both, which provide a +1 to the unit's melee results. So if I had a unit of 10 soldiers with 1 melee attack each and quality 3+, does that mean I auto-hit 10 times?

The melee results are number of hits or kills or whatever it was. It doesn't add to the die rolls.
It is for telling who won the fight. So with just standard or musician, you could turn a loss into a tie, or a tie into a win. With both, you could turn a loss into a win.
Looked up the rule I meant: "Once both sides have attacked the unit that caused fewer wounds must take a morale test ..."
So these change the number of wounds you caused, while not actually wounding anybody.

Andy is right, I'll have to find a way to rewrite the rule to make it clearer.

Andy is right, I'll have to find a way to rewrite the rule to make it clearer. Once I read what andyskinner posted about the "change in number of wounds" it made sense. I think I need to unplug from the Matrix for awhile .

I still think it could be clearer, more explicit. I had to work it out myself when I first was learning the rules.
