Hello there!
Newb AoF Skirmish Questions here. Sorry, I'm somewhat new to Wargames, so I'm a little confused after our first attempted game.
- - -
So... all units have the same movement? (Advance/Rush/Charge)
If turns alternate between players (and models) how would I keep all of the models within 2" of each other? (I RUSH X figure 12", leaving the rest of the group 12" behind. End turn.)
Or, do you move ALL of your figures on your turn, then your foe moves all of theirs?
- - -
Melee Combat
1. Use Quality as attack skill, and roll dice equal/above Quality skill. Quality successes = numbers of attacks? (Like say, if I rolled 2 over Quality) Or any success equals just one single attack? (Plus any modifiers like
2. Roll dice for each successful attack, enemies Defense value or higher?
3. Successes = Wound rolls?
What does "Hand Weapon A1" mean? I can see that there are different A1, A2, and A3 weapons. Does the A1 = 1 Damage? A2 = 2 Damage?
Which is different than AP(X) since that lowers Defense.
- - -
On the army documents:
Size = the number of models that you get for the single cost? Or, the number that you can field? (Paying Cost for each model?)

This is a really cool project, and very well done. Thank you for it. I'm just confused on some of the details.

So... all units have the same movement? (Advance/Rush/Charge) Yes, all units have those movement options. Some units have the Fast or Slow special rules which change the distance they move. If turns alternate between players (and models) how would I keep all of the models within 2" of each other? (I RUSH X figure 12", leaving the rest of the group 12" behind. End turn.) Or, do you move ALL of your figures on your turn, then your foe moves all of theirs? If a unit has more than 1 model, then all models in that unit move at the same time. Turns alternate between units, not models. 1. Use Quality as attack skill, and roll dice equal/above Quality skill. Quality successes = numbers of attacks? (Like say, if I rolled 2 over Quality) Or any success equals just one single attack? (Plus any modifiers like 2. Roll dice for each successful attack, enemies Defense value or higher? 3. Successes = Wound rolls? Roll as many dice as the weapon's attack value. Each success is a hit. For each hit roll defense or higher to wound. What does "Hand Weapon A1" mean? I can see that there are different A1, A2, and A3 weapons. Does the A1 = 1 Damage? A2 = 2 Damage? A = Attacks Size = the number of models that you get for the single cost? Or, the number that you can field? (Paying Cost for each model?) Size = number of models in that unit for that cost

Thank you for your response!
THIS is what I was needing to understand... and makes sense.
I know you're working on a new edition for this stuff, including a getting started guide; that *will* really help.
This project is a crazy amount of work... but your approach is perfect. Makes it very adaptable for a variety of uses.
Thank you!!

Wait so on melee attacks.
If I roll and hit my units quality do I then roll again trying to hit the defense value or does the person I hit roll trying to hit their own defense value? Essentially is the ghostly undead army one where I have to roll a 6+ to wound or one where they have to defend by rolling a 6+?

In today's rules, the defender tries to save by rolling >= Defense.
In older times (2018 may qualify), it was the opposite.
