So apparently some company out there started making a bag of 52mm (cheapy plastic army man scale)Aliens and Colonial Marines and since I prefer the OPR sets I wondered if the community had any ideas how to use the rules to make a game for them. Honestly I just don't feel like tracking down and making an oversized Space Hulk set (because CM aren't really heavy-armor space dudes anyways), maybe Zombicide-style rules? (if familiar with the game) IDK, reaching out for input.
Thanks all!

A game of Firefight where you pit HDF vs Soul-Snatchers sounds like the best thing to me. Also where are you finding those miniatures?

In hopes that this isn't true thread Necromancy, and because this is the kind of geek I am, I give you:

Hicks - Shotgun, CCW (A1) - Battle Standard [+10 pts] - Medic Deitrich - Flame Thrower, CCW (A1) - Medical Training [+50 pts] Infantry Team - [35 pts + 5 pts] - 40 pts. - Pvt. Crow - Assault Rifle, CCW (A1) - - Pvt. Frost - Assault Rifle, CCW (A1) - - Pvt. Vasqueze - Autocannon. CCW (A1) - [+5pts] Infantry Team - [35 pts + 5 pts] - 40 pts. - Pvt. Drake - Autocannon, CCW (A1) - [+5pts] Ex. 3rd Officer Ripely (Veteran) - Heavy Flamethrower, Energy Fist - Grenadier - [15 pts + 25 pts] - 40 pts
Some thoughts: This is Vanilla Human defense forces, of course. Most of the cast fits so closely to the stats in Firefight it's scary. I gave Corp. Hicks the battle standard helps him combat fear from the Xenomorphs, a role he takes in the film. The two hard ones, however, where the Lt. and Ripley herself. The former just didn't feel like a commander of any sort, more like someone trying to ACT like one. So I decided to make Lt. Gorman a psychic because the amount of sweat the man produces throughout the course of the movie. Maybe he kept failing his rolls... or kept getting them canceled by something. Ripley I decided to shift some of the looks to fit the rules. Both the Granadier option and the Energy fist represent the Loader she uses to fight the queen in the end. Really, it didn't protect like full armor would, just gave her a fist to punch back.
Not in list - Newt, Burke, Bishop: Non-combatants. Despite Bishop's importance to the plot, he is in no way a warrior and programed against it. Spunkmeyer: NO. This man killed everyone just because he had to pee. just no. Sperro: Gunship pilot, not used in skirmish rules. She just drives the bus, man.
So there you go, as far as i can tell and using the v2.3 lists, the Colonial Marine team from Aliens ready for slaughter.
I've had some thoughts on Xenomorphs, like using the mechanic from Spores in the Full Alien Hives list as face huggers, everything having Vicious Jaws and having some sort of house rule to give the whole team ambush.
Hopefully this interests ya'll, otherwise I'll keep this awesomeness to myself
